Hi Josh,
I was in a VERY similar situation 2 years ago when I graduated from Bowling Green State University here in OH. I learned MAINLY C++ there, and knew nothing of this "FoxPro" they were asking me to use. Admittedly, I learned most/all of what I know about Fox by studying old code, reading help files, and plenty of trial and error. If your employer is unwilling to accept the learning curve involved in learning by trial & error, then you may need to take some book advice from others, but I can't recommend one based on the fact that I haven't used one.
On the plus side... this site is GREAT when you get stumped. Even on the easy stuff you often get cordial and fast responses. In fact... any specific questions off the bat here?
Best of luck to ya!
