I do virus check Word and Excel docs. I run virus checks regularly, and I am now running a fire wall. I _never_ open attachments I'm not 100% sure of. I have high security settings set in IE. I keep up with MS security patches. I don't visit random websites. If I'm going to be fooling around (I'm not quite sure what that would mean) I'd start up Norton before proceeding.
