Detroit Area Fox User Group (DAFUG) presents:
Planned Presentations
By Andy Kramek and Marcia Akins

Thursday August 16, 2001 - Auditorium
6:00 PM
Royal Oak Public Library

1) Andy Kramek and Marcia Akins

"Data Driving Your Applications (from the Desktop to the Internet"
This presentation discusses the benefits of data driving your application so that, when circumstances change, you minimize the need for code changes. It doesn’t matter if you are developing desktop, client-server, or distributed applications to run on the world wide web, your application will be more extensible and more maintainable if you data drive its key components. Topics covered include data driving data import and export processes, how to use metadata to implement strategy and factory patterns and a data driven Lister class that produces HTML on the fly.

"Class-Based Data Management"
This presentation addresses the problem of accessing and managing data from disparate sources such as SQL Server, Oracle and Visual FoxPro. This session discusses the design and implementation of a set of classes which address precisely this problem and which can be used in a Visual Foxpro environment 'as is' or even implemented as a COM component to use in a more diverse environment.

2) Whatever anyone else wants to ask or talk about.

Open Fun...and general Q&A as usual.

Hope to see you there.
