The physical size limit is 2 gigabytes or 2,000,000,000,000 or (2) base ten to the power of 12
The record limit is one billion or 1,000,000,000 or (1) base ten to the power of 9
The term billion in the United States is term (base) to the power of 9. In other areas (UK) it is ten to the power of 12. It is much easier to be a billionaire in the United States!
When all is said and done - they are "only numbers".
There was a famous suspension bridge in the state of Washington that vibrated in the wind. One day the wind destroyed the bridge. Confronted with the news the engineer who built the bridge said: “I guess I misplaced my decimal place”! Now that was an understatement!
