>Yes - I have a MS in Engineering. Funny thing - you receive a degree in "Electrical Engineering", and I am an Electronics Engineer. I could never figure that out!

My dad is an EE...I thought he always has called himself an Electrical Engineer. He has primarly done power supply design (a lot of stuff for defense industry over the years). He's currently looking for work, though :(

I have a friend who works for Philips in Fort Collins, CO. This is a question I will pose for him. I believe his degree is EE, but I'm not sure. Nonetheless, in discussions I have with him about his work, he is almost always discussing software work (and I generally don't have much of a clue about what he is talking about *g*)

My guess to the question "Do you consider yourself a software engineer?"...in light of what you are saying, he will say 'No'.

I'm seen too many doctors that make it look like art :)
