I think you are looking at this from the wrong perspective... VFP is not always the answer to every problem. Why not take this opportunity to use something outside your toolset?
My firm has many VFP development projects, but VFP is not our only tool. You will probably end up losing this client to someone who is more open to using other technologies if you try to force one solution on them.
If they want VB, ASP or .NET, embrace this as a chance to broaden your development arsenal and let the client fund your training!!
