I didn't read the other threads but the way I learned VFP was by reading VFP5 for dummies. No lie, it was a good introduction. The next thing I read was the VMP4 manual because we are using Visual Maxframe Professional as our application framework. The next thing would be to do searches on the universal thread for any question you run into. That's it.
