Gaylen,

I have a feeling that the bloke knows not about that which he speaks <g>.

You can certainly have APP files on the server and redistribute them as you like. For Visual Studio 6 (and therefore VFP6), the files you may redistribute are listed in the redistrib.txt file. On my machine it's in the visual studio folder above the VFP folder. In addition, any app, prg, exe, mpr fxp, etc file you write and/or compile using the VFP development environment is freely distributable.

Just so there's no ambiguity: If you wrote and compiled the APP files, you can have them on the server and call them from wherever you like. The client machines need to have the (freely distributable) runtime libraries installed so they can open the apps and exes. You may not redistribute the development environment, nor any other file that ships on the VFP/VS6 CDs unless it appears in the redist.txt file.

HTH

Cheers,

Andrew

If we were to introduce Visual FoxBase+, would we be able to work from the dotNet Prompt?
