Randy,

There are numerous databases available that can give you a latitude and longitude for a particular zipcode. Once you have that there are a couple formulas (an easy one and an exact) to determine the distance. The latitudes and longitudes in the zipcode databases aren't always the most accurate thing in the world, but they usually do.

5-digit zipcode databases you can probably find on the Internet for free with not too much difficulty. If you need greated accuracy, you'll need some CASS certification software that can append zip+4. These usually have an option to return a latitude and longitude as well. If this is what you need, let me know and I'll send you the names of some vendors. There are a few that offer COM objects.
