When user wants to make another assembly where some detail comes from an existing assembly, here's what you can do. Display all detail for the assembly the user wants to use as the 'base' assembly in a grid. Within the grid, you can have a "CurrentControl" of a CheckBox...then user can check all detail to include within new assembly. Adding controls to grids is a little tricky, but you can see examples in foxpro. After user checks detail to carry over, you can show a beginning assembly with selected detail, then allow them to add\delete additional detail.

Another way, which I used to use before I learned how to add controls to grids, is to have a logical field within your detail table, then show a BROWSE with all other fields read only, but the logical field editable. The user can then put T or F within logical field to indicate they want to include the detail for new assembly.

Good luck - Victor
