Hi Fabian,

Nick is referring to a barcode scanner called a "wedge" scanner. It hooks in series with the keyboard and inputs data scanned into the computer as though it were typed on the keyboard. This is a very easy thing to implement if it fits your situation. Being a control freak, I use serial scanners with MSCOMM32, which is the serial Active-X control that comes with VFP. Check my message #479812 for the set-up information I have learned by trial and error.

>If you just want to get the data from the bar code scanner you don't need to open the serial port for that. The input from the scanner in VFP is treated as the keyboard input, If the scanner is connected and its software installed, the scanned number will just appear in your textbox.
