I think that you're exactly right, but I've only seen this with Novell's Client 32. Applications running under Microsoft's Client for Netware Networks don't seem to be affected by the problem nearly as much. Interestingly, Novell's site blames FPW for this, yet there was never an entry (while FPW was support) in the MS KB about it.
