I know there are real people here, but I don't have a good feel for how well non-Fox questions are received. Sometimes real people get very upset when we cross the defined limits of the forum. But since you have given me permission :), I will proceed.

I need to do a screen scrape from a IBM Host on Demand session hosting a 3270 application. The screen text is sent to a text file. I have created a VB exe that takes the text file, formats the address portion of the screen text and sends it to one of those little dedicated label printers. I wrote the utility using VB for an SNA (another mainframe hosting application) which uses VB for its macros. HOD (IBM Host on Demand) uses XML for its macros.

I can start with a recorded XML macro that captures the screen text to the clipboard or to an array, but I cannot find any functions that will convert the clipboard text (or array) to a file. I also cannot find any functions or commands that will call my existing VB exe to do the label printing.

I am also not sufficiently familiar with XML parsers to know what limitations are imposed by the parser that is used with the HOD macro utility. IOW If I am limited to the functions that are in the HOD Macro help file, the needed functionallity may not be available to me.

Thanks,
Brent
