Have you tried the following.

1. Make sure that your "Use Extended File Handles" option in your client32 is set to ON.

2. Are you using some sort of Laserjet printer, if so attempt to install Laserjet III drivers.

3. Bung your FILES = command in the config.sys up to 250.
