Ah, yes, if only I were in FoxPro, all is possible. However, as I said, I am writing in XML which is not only a data format (common useage in VFP) but can also be a programming language; this is not a FoxPro app. We VFP folks take a lot for granted that is not so simple, or even possible, in other environments.
