I don't think that MSDE would do your clients much good. You're limited to five (5) connections.. I'd think of it more as a 'pre-migration to SQL tool' type of product. It essentially gives you full SQL functionality with respect to being able to develop against the 'real thing' without having to purchase a full-blown copy just for the purposes of development. Your client might need a 2-processor solution and that gets expensive if used just for development prior to a huge sale.
I'd think in your case you'd be better off sticking with VFP.
