What a can of worms.
It depends on what you are trying to get done, and what type of server you want to run
on. To the best of my knowledge foxisapi will only run on windows based machines. NT or Win95.
I have had it working on both IIS and Personal Web Server.
The problems I had with Foxisapi was the amount of time it was going to take to develop
all the classes needed to output to HTML. The Demo from MS has only a few of the objects
needed and they were limited. It also seemed to be prone to lockups. (Could be my fault).
It also has a problem with handling multiple hits gracefully currently. Should be fixed with 6.0.
Foxisap is faster than asp’s and you can be a lot more creative.
If you don’t have reservations about a third party product check out Rick Strahl at West Wind Technologies.
http://www.west-wind.com. If you plan on needing speed to burn and quick development ,I would look at this.
If you just want to publish data on the web then ASP’s with DSN’s are the way to go. Development is quick and easy. Seem to be real solid. Ive’ been using for the last 6 to 8 months with no problems.
