I really can't comment on most of the "additional information" people contributed to the thread. But I certainly believe the originator's conclusion to be correct.

Given that you are seeing CPU-boundedness already it would obviously be real interesting if you could try yours out in a dual processor configuration. You might still be in a reasonable ballpark.

I have no idea if a quad processor would buy anything more, but do let us know if you try that out < s >.
