Mark-

>We are just about to plan for providing web enabled applications and management look as if they may end up giving all this intresting work to the VB developers. This is in spite of them being sympathetic to VFP because it has been such a successful product for them compared to their experience with VB.

I'm not touching the VFP versus VB bit. I think that's fruitless. VB is fine for creating web apps, obviously so, and .NET is a lot of fun, too. So, IMHO, if your goal is to use Fox, then just focus on demonstrating what Fox can do. That advice is just based on experience that any time you spend talking about competition, even if it's negative, is just advertisement for them. And any time you spend on negatives, even if you're right, gives the audience the idea you are negative. JMO.

For web apps, have you looked at Voodoo by EPS software (www.eps-software.com)? I haven't had a chance to do anything with it myself yet, but am planning to use it as a major selling point to a client later this month or next. EPS gave a taste of it in Orlando. I don't know off-hand if they're offering a demo version of it. Perhaps others will comment.

It's tough to be a solo voice in a crowd. Just be confident that you're speaking the truth. Either it will be heeded, or not. But if it's not then it probably wasn't going to be no matter what you said.

YMMV
