This is true, and my tendency would be to want to work in this manner.

If you have though an application that requires an editable grid, would you then force the user to save their changes before moving off a row? Or how might you handle it?

Also, if you are performing batch updates, and wanting to record broken business rules to an error log. It seems you might get better performance handling multiple rows at a time. But then again, the difference in performance might be negligible.

Dealing with 1 record at a time is not a big problem for me. I mainly just want to know yours and others mindsets on developing with the framework so I don't end up straying to far in my own techniques if I don't have to.
