>>Generally, when they ask me questions, show me their WinXX box and ask where the manuals are, and I see a hologramed license or tagged item laying amoung the other contents. Or, when the yask me a question and I ask why they haven't called the store where they bought the WinXX from, they light up and say, "I should have thought of that!"

Well, ya, since even at today's prices most folks have only one PC, and contrary to what Bill Gates might think, most people aren't going to hand out their $200+ WinXX box for their relatives, friends and neighbors to install. You know that if you don't copy your cab files to your local C: you will be required to insert a CD into the CDROM drive if/when you change a driver and the current config doesn't contain it.

You know what they say, you are only six people removed from anyone else in the country (planet?). In my circle of 30-40 families I don't know of a single instance of pirating, and since I am frequently called to answer computer questions ("Uncle Jerry will know...") I made a point of ascertaining rightful ownership. Suprised? I don't think pirating is ethical either. Which, if you didn't notice the question before, is a catagory BG can be placed, since he pirated Stacker and Go corpt technology, to name but a few. Maybe that's why he is so paranoid - he knows what he will do and assumes everyone else would do the same. Eh?
