Ok ! I found it the solution.
simply use:
import from filename.xls type xl5 sheet sheet1
>I need to import a .xls file in a cursor.
>I know I can use the command append with the type XL5.
>
>But what are at the rules for doing this.
>It looks like the append command wants to match the .dbf fields names with the excel header columns.
>
>In my case I have header columns with spaces in the name.
>How should I create my fields in my cursor?
>
>Ex. of field name in Excel:
>CARD #,CARD NUMBER
