>Thank you everyone for all your input. The probelm ended up being the Norton Anti-virus software. Once disabled, everything is perfect - like magic almost. The question now is which AV software should be used? Any ideas?

Don't look at McAfee. I used to recommend it before this week. Their web site is outright deceptive. It states that McAfee anti-virus works on Windows 2000. Turns out it only works on Windows 2000 Professional. It took me 3 hours this week to get my money back. The only time I've been that frustrated with customer non-support is dealing with @Home.
