Yours is not the first case of NAV causing this type of problem. Unfortunately NAV is one of the best for virus coverage and simplicity/transparency of automatic updates so it would be nice to stick with it. A couple of options come to mind:

- notify Symantec that there is a problem. I have just done this by submitting a message on their tech support forum.

- delve into NAV setup and exclude VFP-specific file extensions - including .TMP, .BAK, .TBK etc. if necessary.
