It depends on what kind of message you mean. If you want to send an e-mail message, then Rick Strahl's wwIPStuff library is very useful in this regard, or you could automate outlook or use Nigel Coates' MAPI class. If you want to do interprocess communication, then you can use DDE or OLE Automation or COM+ or a third party messaging hub like the Intercom System from CNS.
