The simple way to embedd html into a email is to use outlook express.
there is a fuction called. New message using. and you can there specify the web site address of the email / url that you want to send.

I have quite a few stationary's set up on a private web server, and then when I send emails. they get formatted per the html ..

What goes on in the background is a little more intensive than that. (as you have noticed) You do have to specify the mime type of the document in your email. ... and this is just based on what I have noticed looking at html emails I have recieved, it appears the images are encoded using Base64 encoding. it could be that your email server actually handles that) ... I wish I knew the answer to that one.
But I do know that at least you do have to format your email, out in proper smtp format. with proper mime coding.
