I have having very poor luck including images in my Crystal Reports 8 reports. The application generates report data on a particular person in the database and includes an image of that person. I am generating the data in my VFP app and COPYing it out as FOX2X so I can use the xbase driver in Crystal. The image file is copied out to the same location, always using the same filename. I am using an OLE link to include the JPG file. Under Win98, this seemed to work. I could view the report, and the image was displayed. I could print the report, and the image printed. Since upgrading my system to Win2K, it no longer shows the image, only a link. In the Report Viewer I can click on the link and the image is displayed, but there's no way to do that when printing, all that prints is the link icon.
It seems to me the one MAJOR feature missing in CR is the ability to display the filename contained in a field, ie, I pass a field in my table containing a file name, and rather than print the contents of the field, it displays the file named in that field. This is not unlike printing an inventory list witht he description, quantity, and a picture of the item. Surely there must be someone doing this in Crystal, it doesn't seem like such an odd request.
