IMO, the "%" operator is slightly simpler, and more readable, than the (otherwise equivalent) "mod()" function. Both give you the remainder of a division.
Change:
iif(mod(_pageno,2) = 1, ...
to:
iif(_pageno % 2 = 1, ...
