Hi!
In addition, it is popular approach to get value of the current cell using
evaluate(grid.columnXXX.ControlSource) or using control source of corresponding text box that will also work when current alias is not what is used by grid.
Anyway, take a look to the grid in run-time. From what I know, grid extends the field name by alais during initialization automatically. When I use grid based on the SELECT statement, I get the record source alias name for that select statement from the control source ;)
>Does anyone know about any advantages - or disadvantages - of including an alias in a grid column? That is, Column1.ControlSource = "MyTable.MyField", vs. only "MyField".

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs
It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
