Hi Nancy,

In answer to your questions:

>Do you mean literally a "view?"

Yes - a view built in the View designer. The readonly property is set to .F. but the view is not updatable.

>It's a local view?

Yes, local view

>If so, how are you indexing the view?

View is indexed on the DE INIT using the standard INDEX ON syntax

>Do you index it when the form is first initialzed? And then you SET ORDER TO [tagname]? If so, then the data shouldn't disappear normally.

I've tried SET ORDER TO in various places including form init. No change.

>So, what data disappears? Is it a grid, by any chance?

Data in a simple text box

>What code do you have execute after you change the order?

I noticed the behavior on a complex form then tested on a very simple two control (textbox, command button) form. No extra code.

>Are you using a framework?

No framework

I'm definietly confused.
