I found it... there was some code buried in the refresh of the page of the control. Sigh.....
The position is hard coded into two different postions depending on the setup info stored in a startup table.
I was just placing the label anywhere I wanted.... NO GO.....
Soooooooooo... for now... looks like I have to go with the hard coded stuff unless I want to burn some time overriding the class code.
