Is there a simple way to prevent a second window from going into edit mode? (In this application users have to click on a button to enter edit mode.)


The requirement: Allow multiple application windows open but only allow one to be in edit mode.

I was thinking of adding a property to the _Screen object or the application object to keep track of which window was currently in edit mode. Then as successive windows are opened check the property and not allow editing. My first thought was to use the form name but in futher thought think that some sort of unique identification would be necessary as each form as activated.

Anyone done this, have any ideas, comments about this idea, or can tell me if I am on the right track.
