Hi!

This is not true. I'm using MSDE as SQL Serevr 7.0 all the time for development on my machine, and temporary tables are available there.

Look at the MS site.

The best thing will be if you install MSDE on some machine and develop your applications using that server. When you move to main server, for sure, everything will work ok, becuase MSDE is lighter version of SQL Serevr and there are no a single incompatibility when moving from MSDE to SQL Server. I'm doing this way all the time.

HTH.

>We're developing a thick-cient VFP app that uses SQL Server 2000 tables.
>
>The VFP app creates temporary tables (prefaced with '#') in SQL Server, for holding temporary lists of accounts/products that are eventually used as part of a SQL Stored Proc Query.
>
>Someone told me that the ability to create temp tables (e.g. #LSTACCOUNTS, #LSTPRODUCTS, etc.) is only available in SQL Server Enterprise Edition, and that it might not be available in MSDE.
>
>Is this true? What we're developing needs to work against the MSDE engine.

>A related question is...what is the best source of information for capabilities in MSDE?

>Thanks in advance,

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
