sorry

you have to set the recordsource and recordsourcetype propertys in grid
otherwise it automatically grabs the values out of the currently selected table, view or cursor

so one solution that would be possible is to write the textbox's value to a table and using this table as recourdsource in grid (recordsourcetype = 0)
