Paul, as far as I know both versions are physically the same, except for the check in the update version whether you have an older version.
Further, I would have a backup of my classes at hand, in the case that VFP7 uses new properties and methods (Names) you have as custom in VFP6. If this is the case you are in trouble (in my own experience you won't get the classes right again). So, once you know which ones that are, rename them in VFP6-mode, and than let VFP7 loose on your classes.
