I think you can probably send an escape code within a report field or so, but if you want to control the printer at a low level, you are better of generating a text-report and sending printer codes + report to the printer yourself.
Use ? and ?? (or @...say) to generate the text report.
Use ??? to send printer codes and report to the printer.
