If I remember correctly, the table link in Access uses the Jet engine instead of the ODBC driver. And also if I'm not mistaken, the Jet engine only supports up to FPW2.6 tables. This has been since Acc97 and I don't think they added this support on A2K.

If you want to open this you need to go with a query based on the ODBC driver or use the COPY TO .. FOX2X to save your VFP table with the required format. I think there is a KB article about this. I'll see if I can dig it up.
