There is nothing in special to do it. If I have two forms running, and one table on the midle, setting the record point of the first one will might affect the second form certanly, all we have to do is produce the refresh. But, don´t forget in some controls, the correct event to be fireup is the requery instead of refresh.

Why don´t you publish the code, to let us know what exactly is happend.
