>WOW - Ok I guess it's not such a problem then! Am I right in thinking if I am using views then I just index the views or will I need to index the tables as well?
Index the tables first. Then your views can be ordered the way you want when you set them up (create them). If your view pulls in quite a few records and you need to view them in different ways/orders then you may have to index your view results.
But on the whole for my project I ensure that I set up all the indexes for the tables I need. Each field I would be querying on. Then I set I up the views I need for certain forms/screen. Ensuring that the View has an ORder BY statement for how I want the data presented to the user.
