Len;

Some people do not believe in testing. Others feel if it is "out of the box" it must work. The truth depends upon what you and your users do and are willing to accept. If a problem occurs just tell them not to use that function until Microsoft fixes it in the "next service pack".

We all know that all products work upon release and should rush out to use it without concern for any problems. If you like repeat customers and good referrals it would seem worthwhile to wait a while after a new product release to determine suitability for use as a development tool.

Seems like you have two extremes of individuals who are using VFP 7.0

1. Cautious – waits a while and sees what is happening within the development community.

2. Who gives a damn – this is it and I am going to use it!

It is interesting when type 2 starts complaining about “bugs” and then complains about type 1 being cautious. But then again it is consistent with type 2 mentality. Shoot self in foot and criticize others.

The nice thing about all this is you get to make your own choice. How you interact with your clients is entirely up to you.
