Actually, the current is the SECOND generationi of optical mice from MS. The first optical mice had the same shape and color as their IntelliMouse.

I have 2 of the old models and 2 of the new ones and like the old ones better. they glide smoother.

Logitech's has a very smooth glide, but their wheel feels like scratching a blackboard.

Oh, and they work great with VFP. Since they're painted white or gray they don't interfere with OLE class instantiation and integrate nicely with the class browser. Re. vfp 7, intellisense works well when the mouse is attached to the computer ;-)
