George,
On my "Effective Techniques", there is no search ability at all. "Kilofox" and "Hackfox" do have the ability to search. I have realized the font problems on Kilofox is only in the sections before sections before Chapter 1.
"HackFox" is the only one of the three that has an index. This *almost* makes up for the oddball chapter titles in the table of contents that provide absolutely no help at all.
Sometimes it is helpful to know the context of a topic. None of these 3 e-books provide a way to synchronize the current topic to the table of contents, so you can read topics that are conceptually related. The authors placed them side-by-side in the book, but the flow is lost in the e-book if you can't figure out what the next section is supposed to be (after doing a search).
More analysis than you cared for, but I repeatedly see people around here say they don't use the hard copy book...the e-book is enough for them. I just don't get it, I guess.

I have found all three books to be incredibly helpful, and highly recommend all of them to anyone who uses VFP...

I have found that the traditional, wire-based mouse works fine with these e-books.
