>I've installed Windows 2000 Professional on a laptop, and installed IIs 5 as well. I've checked to be certain that IIs is installed. I placed a simple test ASP page in the \inetpub\wwwroot\ folder and in IE pointed to that ASP page. Instead of running it, it opens in Visual Interdev instead. I put that same page on a Win 2000 server box and it worked fine. It is my understanding that with 2000 Pro I can run the web server. What configuration issues should I look at on the laptop so that I can test ASP pages on it?

Make sure that the \inetpub\wwwroot\ folder has the appropriate user permissions set. A friend of mine had a similar problem and it was due to the IWAM_<
