...desolder the memory buffer chips on the memory board and replace them with those having inverted outputs (hell...you think I'm gonna waste 40, 2K ROMs?) (don't forget to change this to a "dash 1" in the drawings!)....ahhhhh....now it works!

Right! Real programmer's do it in firmware, and when they screw up, they need to rely on some hardware skills to save the day. (Actually, a manufacturing tech did the soldering, in the aforementioned case...but hey, real programmer's know when to call in the cavalry too!)
