Title:
Using Visual Studio Installer Without Uninstall
I have created a .msi file for a visual foxpro application that I have
distributed to users to install. I will occasionally update the VFP
program. When I do, I want to have my users update the program on their
computer.
I have read that the original install maintains a cached version of the
installation on the target computer. This cached version will always be
the .msi that runs unless it has been uninstalled. In order to perform
the update, I have to first uninstall the program and then install it.
Is there any way I can use a command line parameter to force the uninstall
before the install? Can I prevent the install from caching a version on
the target computer? I want to insure the update is being applied and I
want to minimize my dependency on the user to correctly uninstall and then
install the update.
Thanks in advance for your help.
