About decimals: it seems to me that SET DECIMALS affect mainly the display of data, not the actual calculation. For instance, the following fragment displays very accurate data - much more than if x were stored only with 2 decimals accuracy:
set decimals to 2
x = pi() * 10
? x * 1e6
