IBMs Host on Demand (HOD) provides a WEB based version of a terminal emulator for mainframe apps. The applet that runs under the browser is XML based. HOD applets offer Macro recording in the user interface, but it fails to record some keys necessary for many useful macros. Specifically, it fails to record the [Alt] key when used to move focus to the menu. It will record arrow keys using square brackets in the recorded macro text as "[down][up]" etc. The enter key and others are also not recorded. While editing the recorded XML macro text, I have tried entering a variety of formats to include these keys in the macro but my guesses at syntax do not play back as desired.

Does anyone know if there is a standard syntax for text versions of keyboard macros in XML or the HOD implementation of this?

Thanks,
Brent Smith
