>No, the Jody Foster movie is 'Contact' fromthe book by Carl Sagan. An excellent movie, to be sure (good enough to make it to my DVD

Right! Ignore my 'Senior Moment'... I remember now. And, miraculously, I remember the "First Contact" episode of StarTrek. Cochrane uses an old modified rocket booster, right? Thinks for pulling that one out of the dredges of my mind. Great episode!

collection). 'First Contact' is the last (I think - I loose track..) Star Trek:The Next Generation movie. The Borg decide to stop humand once and for all by going back in time and altering history. The go back to right before Cocharane conducts his first warp drive experiment with the intent of stopping humans from venturing into space. It opens with a pretty darn good space battle, and has plenty of humor - Geordi the engineer practically worshipping Cochrane, and the guy who plays Cochrane is great as the reluctant hero who can't understand why these people can't just leave him alone.
> I haven't seen that web site, I will check it out. Sounds interesting, if it's really true. Quantum physics is the one class I dropped in college. Seems sort of along the lines of the Philadelphia Experiment - look that up sometime. A good movie, but it's one of those things the consipracy theorists INSIST really happened and has been covered up. True or not, the movie is interesting, especially if you are interested in the time travel paradox kind of thing. There was also a sequel, that most people don't like, but I thought it was interesting - basic plot, Germany wins WWII because even though at the end of the first movie they say the experimetation was stopped, it really wasn't, and a stealth bomber (or was it a stealth fighter?) gets zapped back to WWII Germany, complete with globe circling range and nuclear weapons. Same guy from the first movie is in it, and he has to set things back to the way they were.

>>Hi Randy,
>>I loved the movie "First Connect", if we are talking about the one starring Jody Foster. If we are not, then expand a little, I am interested!

>>BTW, as an aside, have you seen the website of Dr. Fran De Aquino? He purports to have created an electrical device that creates a particular type of electric field, which causes objects it envelopes to lose weight. On his site he displays the Einstein metric and photographs of the experimental setup, along with charts and graphs, the claims he reduced the weight of a 36 Kg object by nearly 30%. He does consulting for the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He claims that with the proper adjustments the weight of an object can be reduced to the mg range, and that speeds faster than light are possible.
