Dave,
I am not a fan of either Lawyers or BAD laws.

The Quebec thing is strictly related, as best as I can tell, to BAD LAW - some kind of TAX has to be paid by any company offering *ANY* knid of "prize" to any Quebec resident. It is a Provincial (ie "state") law, not Federal.

You get used to seeing Quebec EXCLUDED from just about any contest of any kind when you read the fine print.

Some argue that that is actually the way the provincial government WANTS it, so that they can point to yet another way in which Quebec does *not* get a "fair shake" on things generally. When you have a Separatist government, this *can* make sense. The people in general "suffer", but the government can claim that Quebeckers are being "singled out" (which of course they are *NOT*, except by their OWN GOVERNMENT'S DOING).

If I still lived in Quebec, I too would be P.O.ed, but at the PROVINCIAL govt, not at the companys which prefer not to get embroiled in extra taxes and other legal hassles.

Cheers,
Jim N

>>>all of canada but quebec is included, isn't it? sounds like someone doesn't want to deal w/ apps written in french.

>>But, for your information, Canada is having two officials language. So, french is not related to Quebec only but to Canada.
