>My fault: Looking further I noticed that someone copied the VFP6 runtime files to the network were the exe resides. My question now is: are there any issues having the VFP6 runtime files on the network with the exe as opposed to having them on the client winnt/system32 directory.
Network traffic/performance for one. It's better if the runtime is local.
Best practice seems to be to always explicitly install VFPx runtimes on the client machine. Merely copying files is apparently not sufficient (registry entries not created, etc.) and may cause subtle problems.
